Another Warning to Immigration-Control Advocates

powered by Surfing Waves

In my blog post yesterday, I pointed out how many immigration-control advocates have been inculcated with the belief that illegal immigrants are invading the United States. Given such, some immigration-control advocates are tempted to begin killing them, much like Americans would do if some foreign military force was actually invading the United States.

But the fact is that these immigration-control advocates are misguided. As I pointed out in yesterday’s article, an invasion is what the U.S. government did to the people of Iraq, where it unleashed massive violence, death, and destruction on them with bombs, missiles, and bullets. Immigrants, on the other hand, enter the United States peacefully, are unarmed, and are simply seeking to survive and prosper through labor.

As I have warned immigration-control advocates in the past, don’t do it! Don’t start shooting and killing illegal immigrants who you feel are invading America. You will be arrested, indicted, convicted, and punished for murder. The judge will not permit you to defend yourself at trial by claiming that you were protecting America from invaders.

Yesterday, I pointed to what just happened in Arizona, where 73-year-old rancher George Alan Kelly is charged with shooting and killing 48-year old Gabriel Cuen-Butimea, an illegal immigrant who trespassed onto Kelly’s ranch. If Kelly really did do the shooting, he will not be permitted to claim at his trial that he was protecting America from an invasion of illegal immigrants. The judge will simply not permit that claim to be used as a defense to the murder charge.

Yesterday, we had another confirmation of this point, only much more direct. Patrick Crusius, pled guilty to 90 federal charges involving his 2019 killing of 23 people at a Walmart in El Paso, most of whom were Latinos. The 24-year-old Crusius had traveled from his home near Dallas to El Paso with a GP WASR-10 semi-automatic rifle.

What motivated Crusius to commit this heinous act? In an online post, he wrote: “This attack is a response to.the Hispanic invasion of Texas. They are the instigators, not me. I am simply defending my country from cultural and ethnic replacement brought on by the invasion.”

Crosius will be sentenced later. The Justice Department is recommending 90 consecutive life sentences. It is fairly certain that Crosius will die of old age in prison. But that’s if he’s lucky. He is still facing murder changes in Arizona, where the state is seeking the death penalty.

Every immigration-control advocate needs to take heed: Immigrants illegally entering the United States do not constitute an invasion! Do not go out and start shooting and killing Hispanic immigrants or people who look like Hispanic immigrants. Neither federal nor state officials will hail you as a patriot or a hero. Instead, they will arrest, indict, prosecute, convict, and punish you as a common criminal. And rightly so.
