“ESG is just the idea of taking environmental, social and governance issues principles into kind of when you when you make your business decisions and take them into account…Big companies like BlackRock, the world’s like largest asset manager, has embraced ESG investing and they try they have enough they tried to reduce or they do in the environmental sector the most they try to have like carbon-free, like divest from fossil fuels… A lot of companies are saying ‘we’re embracing ESG’, which they may or may not be doing anything, but they’re going to say they’re doing it because it’s a way of virtue signaling.” — Charlotte Whelan, senior policy analyst at Independent Women’s Forum
