In the early stages of the Tulsa rally, I remember Trump fuming at the low attendance. And, rightfully, he should, but NOT for the reason the mainstream media is saying. Roday, Crooks and Liars, essentially The Epoch Times of the left, wrote the following:
Co-host Sandra Smith pressed McDaniel: “Just looking at the numbers, I guess the tickets scanned amounted to 6,200, Ronna. The campaign had touted that there were a million ticket requests going into this. We knew the arena’s capacity was 19,000.”“So what are you saying was the real reason why the turnout was much less than anticipated?” Smith wondered.“I’m going to dispute the ticket scans because I talked to the campaign this morning and they said it was double that at least,” McDaniel replied. “I do think there was a little chaos in Tulsa as they dispersed the crowds early. The people — the front-row Joes — who were camping out were forced to leave early.”The chairwoman went on to blame Father’s Day weekend and “people who were scared about violence and coronavirus” for the low turnout.“But people showed up,” she added. “And having 11 million people watch online shows that that enthusiasm exists.”
Except this isn't the reason. In fact, early local news agencies reported the real reason. The REAL reason nobody showed up was because anti-Trump activists bought most of the tickets and then decided not to show up, as local news site KEYT reported:
A coordinated effort was underway on TikTok in the days leading up to Trump’s Saturday rally, encouraging people to register online for the free event and not show up. TikTok is normally thought of as a platform for dancing teenagers and not, necessarily, political action.Trump 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale told CNN Sunday, “Leftists and online trolls doing a victory lap, thinking they somehow impacted rally attendance, don’t know what they’re talking about or how our rallies work.” He added that “registering for a rally means you’ve RSVPed with a cell phone number and we constantly weed out bogus numbers, as we did with tens of thousands at the Tulsa rally, in calculating our possible attendee pool. These phony ticket requests never factor into our thinking.”
This is verified by a video that received over 715k favorites on TikTok telling people to sign up to tank the event:
@maryjolaupp Did you know you can make sure there are empty seats at Trump’s rally? ##BLM.

But the mainstream press, in addition to the complete and total lie Trump's campaign said about the low turnout being due to fake reporting on ticket scans, is doing everything it can to tank this narrative. With the Associated Press (and all the local news agencies that republished it) taking an entirely different spin, saying Trump was essentially a failure of a candidate who could drum up no support:
President Donald Trump’s return to the campaign trail was designed to show strength and enthusiasm heading into the critical final months before an election that will decide whether he remains in the White House.Instead, his weekend rally in Oklahoma highlighted growing vulnerabilities and crystallized a divisive reelection message that largely ignores broad swaths of voters — independents, suburban women and people of color — who could play a crucial role in choosing Trump or Democratic challenger Joe Biden. The lower-than-expected turnout at the comeback rally, in particular, left Trump fuming.“There’s really only one strategy left for him, and that is to propel that rage and anger and try to split the society and see if he can have a tribal leadership win here,” former Trump adviser-turned-critic Anthony Scaramucci said on CNN’s “Reliable Sources.”
If anyone ever tells you the news isn't fake. Send them this article. There were 11 million people watching the live stream of the rally. Trump hasn't lost support any more than Biden has. They have both been GAINING supporters right now. 2020 will be an interesting election.
