The next time you're in West Palm Beach, consider skipping the pizza at Pizza Mambo. The Florida pizza restaurant had to close for a day because an iguana was found in a separate freezer.

NBC Miami reports:
Pizza Mambo in West Palm Beach was forced to close for a day last week following the inspection by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

The restaurant could not be reached for comment, but an employee told the South Florida Sun Sentinel that the reptile was given as a personal gift to the owner. It was stored in a separate freezer away from the restaurant's food and was immediately trashed after they were informed it was a violation.
I don't know what was going through the owner's or manager's head when he allowed this, but storing a frozen iguana in a freezer is nuts. Nevermind the fact you own a separate freezer that is literally used for storing miscellaneous items like dead iguanas.

But it doesn't help that dead iguanas are also considered a "delicacy," according to the article. Maybe the next time the sausage ran low for the pizza the iguana would have been thawed out as the "emergency supply?"
