This Memorial Day weekend, I began reflecting on the thousands of gravestones geometrically aligned at Arlington National Cemetery, how these brave men and women boldly risked their lives to keep America safe, to stave off a grave threat, foreign or domestic, that would result in the destruction of our great country. Then I began reflecting on the current state of affairs, and how in eight years the US Government had managed to take the greatest, most prosperous economy and throw it into a great recession whilst raising a debt surpassing the height of our moon. It's certainly a terrifying experience to watch the greatest country on God's green earth become hopelessly destroyed by policies of monumental idiocy.
But then there was hope. Like the flicker of candlelight at the edge of a football field, a presidential candidate rose through the ranks of the Republican primaries with his message of common sense pragmatism and a rejuvenating of the original American values of hard work, belief in God, and patriotism. The media laughed in his face. His own party told him to go to hell, but the people decided they had had enough. They decided that they didn't want another do-nothing political insider. They wanted an America they could work in, an America they could prosper in, and, most importantly, an America that they ruled, and not some bureaucrat in Washington D.C. They elected Donald J. Trump, and on January 20th, 2017, that very same Donald J. Trump became the president of the United States of America.
On election night, I could not believe what I was witnessing. I was overwhelmed with happiness and a renewed hope for the future of my country. Donald Trump did exceptionally well for himself, and now he was going to do they very same for us. Thus far, Trump has kept this promise.
The media is drumming up a conspiracy of collusion between Russia and the Trump Administration based on zero tangible evidence and unverifiable sources. Yet, the success of the President's first 200 days is astounding. He has struck a deal with Saudi Arabia bringing hundreds of billions of dollars into the US economy and Federal government. He has curbed illegal immigration by 70% and united the Middle East against ISIS, and the unimaginably high national debt has decreased by over 100 billion dollars since Trump took office, as compared to the upward trend of the Obama Administration's final months in office. Couple this with the current détente unfolding between Russia and the United States and so far, things are looking pretty optimistic for both Trump's first 200 days and the United States as a country.
However, the politicians in Washington revile this progress, as does the media. Has the media voraciously reported that the national debt has receded by 100 billion dollars? Has the Republican establishment in Washington D.C. commended Trump on his successful Middle East diplomacy and his successful rallying of NATO to pay their fair share? Of course not, because they could care less about America. The Republicans own the House and Senate and they can't even pass healthcare reform; yet somehow President Trump is the Politburo's court jester. In 200 days Trump has accomplished more for this country than Barack Obama accomplished in 8 years. Did the Middle East lend Obama a helping hand? Did the Middle East promise to work with Obama to stop ISIS? Did the Middle East invest over 300 billion dollars into the US when Obama was president? Did the national debt drop under the Obama Administration? Did the economy get any better under Obama? The resounding answer to these important questions is "no." In all honesty, absolutely nothing progressed under Obama but poverty and racial tension (not even the median household income rose under Obama, compared to the increases under the Trump Administration). Yet, the news media and Washington Establishment would have you believe that President Trump and his administration represent the complete annihilation of the United States of America and everything it stands for.
This begs the question: what type of America are we to remember on Memorial Day? Do we want our kids to remember our country as a footnote in the history books? Do we want to tell them stories of how we let the socialist policies of the Liberal Democrats destroy our country and economy? Do we want them to stare at the American Flag and think about a catastrophic failure of the fundamental tenets of liberty lost to the stifling regulations of government mass parenting? Do we want them to cast their eyes on the tombstones of war heroes in Arlington National Cemetery and realize that they died in vain? That they died to prevent absolutely nothing? That the liberty they fought tooth and nail to preserve was outdone by a gaggle of suits in Washington D.C.? I know I certainly do not.
We the people are at a crossroads in our nation's history. Should we choose to halt the course of reform and continue the 8 previous years of liberal democrat "solutions?" Or Should we fight tooth and nail to revitalize our economy, increase our international respect and alliances, and preserve our nation's heritage? We have clearly seen where the policies of the socialists lead. Does anyone emigrate to Cuba to start a business? Do immigrants line up in droves to live in North Korea? Did the communism of Russia defeat the liberty and capitalism of the United States? We the people must choose to stay the course of liberty and prosperity and not be fooled by the wiles of the socialists.

If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers." - 150th anniversary of the Constitution speech.
