Iowa election officials have begun the clean-up process to purge inactive voters, Local 5 ABC reports. The effort involves sending notices to voters who didn't vote in the 2020 election so that, if they do not respond, their addresses can be purged from the records.
The move would help clean up voter fraud because it prevents people from using inaccurate addresses in an effort to pretend to be voters they aren't. However, some are skeptical since these voters didn't vote in 2020 and likely may not be used in future elections.

Michigan also is in the process of purging inactive voters from their lists, and 177,000 voters have been removed in March, 2021. However, like in Iowa, these voters did no vote in the 2020 election. They also didn't vote in the 2018 election. Either way, it makes the process more difficult to vote illegally as their addresses and records will no longer be in the system and therefore cannot be used by a con artist seeking to help a candidate win an election.
